Terms of Service
These Terms of Service explain the rules for using LiftAtlas, including your account, workout tracking, health and fitness features, social features, user content, and related services.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply when you access or use the LiftAtlas mobile app, website, and related services (“LiftAtlas”, the “App”, or the “Service”).
By creating an account, downloading the App, accessing the website, or using LiftAtlas, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use LiftAtlas.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information.

3. The LiftAtlas service
LiftAtlas is a fitness and strength tracking app designed to help users log workouts, follow progress, track personal records, use health and fitness features, and interact with selected social features such as friends, groups, leaderboards, milestones, and showcases.
LiftAtlas may include features such as:
- Workout logging and history
- Exercise tracking
- Strength scores, rankings, and progress calculations
- Workout plans, splits, and fitness-related tools
- Profile and body measurement features
- Apple HealthKit and Apple Health integrations, if enabled
- Friends, groups, leaderboards, milestones, and other social features
- Push notifications and reminders
- Free, premium, advertising-supported, or paid features, if enabled
We may update, change, add, limit, suspend, or remove features from LiftAtlas over time.
4. Eligibility
LiftAtlas is not intended for children under the age of 13.
If you are under 13, you may not use LiftAtlas or create an account. If you are old enough to use LiftAtlas but are under the age of majority in your country, you should only use LiftAtlas with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
By using LiftAtlas, you confirm that you are allowed to use the Service under applicable law and that your use of the Service does not violate these Terms.
5. Accounts
Some LiftAtlas features may require an account. When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep your account information up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that happens under your account.
You agree not to:
- Create an account using false, misleading, or unauthorized information
- Use another person’s account without permission
- Share your account in a way that creates security or abuse risks
- Attempt to bypass authentication, security, or access controls

6. Fitness, training, and safety
LiftAtlas is provided for fitness tracking, workout organization, progress visualization, and general fitness-related information. LiftAtlas does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or professional health services.
You should consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting or changing a training program, especially if you have a medical condition, injury, disability, pregnancy, heart condition, history of health issues, or any concern about exercise.
Any calculations, rankings, scores, recommendations, estimated one-rep max values, progress charts, suggested rep ranges, calories, health metrics, or similar features are estimates only. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your personal circumstances.
LiftAtlas is not responsible for injuries, health issues, equipment damage, or other consequences resulting from your workouts, training decisions, or use of information shown in the App.
7. Apple HealthKit and Apple Health
LiftAtlas may allow you to connect with Apple Health through Apple HealthKit. This feature is optional and only works if you grant permission through Apple’s permission system.
If enabled, LiftAtlas may read selected health and fitness data such as steps, active energy, sleep data, or other supported health and fitness metrics shown in the App.
You can manage or remove Apple Health permissions at any time in your device settings.
Apple Health data is used only to provide health and fitness features inside LiftAtlas. LiftAtlas does not use Apple HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, tracking, or selling data.
Apple Health data and other health-related information shown in LiftAtlas may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or different from values shown in Apple Health or other apps. You should not rely on LiftAtlas for medical decisions.
9. User content
“User content” means content that you create, upload, submit, display, or make available through LiftAtlas. This may include usernames, profile pictures, group names, group pictures, workout notes, showcase items, and other content you choose to add.
You keep ownership of your user content. However, by uploading or submitting user content to LiftAtlas, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, modify for technical purposes, and use that content as needed to operate, improve, protect, and provide the Service.
You are responsible for your user content and confirm that you have the rights needed to upload and share it.
You may not upload, submit, or display content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory
- Contains nudity, sexually explicit content, or graphic violence
- Promotes self-harm, eating disorders, dangerous behavior, or illegal activity
- Violates someone else’s privacy, intellectual property, or other rights
- Impersonates another person or misrepresents your identity
- Contains spam, scams, malware, phishing, or misleading content
- Attempts to manipulate rankings, groups, leaderboards, or app functionality
We may remove or restrict user content at our discretion if we believe it violates these Terms, creates risk, or may harm LiftAtlas, users, or third parties.
10. Acceptable use
You agree to use LiftAtlas only for lawful and personal fitness-related purposes.
You may not:
- Use LiftAtlas in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Access, copy, scrape, or collect data from LiftAtlas using automated methods without permission
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or interfere with the App or Service
- Attempt to bypass security, authentication, rate limits, subscriptions, ads, or access controls
- Upload malware, harmful code, or content designed to disrupt the Service
- Use LiftAtlas to harass, abuse, threaten, impersonate, or harm others
- Manipulate workout logs, rankings, leaderboards, milestones, achievements, or groups in an abusive way
- Use LiftAtlas for commercial purposes without our permission
- Use LiftAtlas in a way that damages, disables, overloads, or impairs the Service
We may investigate and take action against violations of these Terms, including removing content, restricting features, suspending accounts, or deleting accounts.
11. Payments, subscriptions, premium features, and ads
LiftAtlas may offer free features, premium features, subscriptions, in-app purchases, advertising-supported features, or other paid options.
11.1 Free and premium features
Some features may be free, while others may require payment, a subscription, or another form of access. We may change which features are free or paid over time.
11.2 In-app purchases and subscriptions
If LiftAtlas offers in-app purchases or subscriptions through the Apple App Store, purchases are handled by Apple and are subject to Apple’s payment terms and policies.
Subscription prices, renewal periods, trial periods, cancellation options, and billing terms will be shown before purchase where required.
You are responsible for managing and cancelling subscriptions through your Apple ID settings or the relevant app store account settings. Deleting the App may not automatically cancel a subscription.
11.3 Refunds
Refund requests for purchases made through the Apple App Store are generally handled by Apple under Apple’s refund policies. We may not be able to issue refunds directly for purchases processed by Apple.
11.4 Advertising
LiftAtlas may show ads to free users if advertising is enabled in the App. We may limit, remove, change, or add advertising-supported features over time.
We do not use Apple HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or tracking.
12. Intellectual property
LiftAtlas, including the App, website, design, logos, branding, software, features, graphics, text, ranking systems, calculations, and other materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property and other laws.
These Terms do not give you ownership of LiftAtlas or any intellectual property rights in the Service. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use LiftAtlas for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.
You may not copy, distribute, sell, rent, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works based on LiftAtlas except as permitted by applicable law or with our written permission.
13. Feedback and suggestions
If you send us feedback, ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or feature requests, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation to you. We may use feedback to improve LiftAtlas, develop new features, fix bugs, or make other changes.
14. Third-party services
LiftAtlas may rely on third-party services, platforms, and infrastructure providers, including services such as Firebase, Google Cloud, Apple HealthKit, Apple Push Notification service, Cloudflare, app store services, payment providers, analytics or crash reporting tools if enabled, and advertising partners if enabled.
Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, and rules. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
Your use of app stores, device platforms, Apple Health, payment systems, or other third-party services may be subject to separate terms from those providers.
15. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal information when you use LiftAtlas.
By using LiftAtlas, you acknowledge that your personal information will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to the Service
We may update, change, suspend, discontinue, or remove parts of LiftAtlas at any time. This may include changing features, design, calculations, rankings, leaderboards, plans, free or paid features, social features, notifications, ads, or availability.
We do not guarantee that any feature will always be available or remain unchanged.
17. Account deletion, suspension, and termination
You may stop using LiftAtlas at any time. You may request account deletion through the App, if available, or by contacting us at support@liftatlas.app.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account or access to LiftAtlas if we believe that:
- You violated these Terms
- You created risk or possible legal exposure for us, other users, or third parties
- You misused social features, groups, rankings, leaderboards, or user content
- Your account is involved in fraud, abuse, security issues, or unauthorized activity
- We are required to do so by law or by a platform provider
After account deletion or termination, some information may remain for a limited period in backups, logs, security records, or where retention is required by law or necessary to protect the Service.
18. Disclaimers
LiftAtlas is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties or guarantees that LiftAtlas will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, complete, or suitable for your specific needs.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of workout calculations, rankings, scores, estimated one-rep max values, health metrics, progress charts, suggested rep ranges, calories, or other information shown in the App.
LiftAtlas is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any disease, injury, or medical condition.
19. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, LiftAtlas and its operators, owners, employees, contractors, service providers, and partners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, business, or other intangible losses.
This includes damages resulting from:
- Your use of or inability to use LiftAtlas
- Workout decisions, training activity, injuries, or health-related consequences
- Errors, delays, bugs, interruptions, or unavailable features
- Unauthorized access to or use of your account or data
- Content or conduct of other users
- Third-party services, platforms, or integrations
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
20. Your responsibility for claims
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of LiftAtlas, your user content, or your violation of the rights of another person or third party.
21. Governing law
Unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of Norway.
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you may have mandatory rights under the laws of your country of residence that these Terms do not limit.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may notify you through the App, website, email, or another appropriate method.
The updated Terms will be posted at: https://liftatlas.app/terms
The “Last updated” date at the top of these Terms shows when they were last updated.
Your continued use of LiftAtlas after the updated Terms become effective means that you accept the updated Terms.

8. Social features, friends, and groups
LiftAtlas may include social features such as usernames, profile pictures, friends, friend requests, groups, group pictures, leaderboards, milestones, rankings, achievements, and showcase items.
Some information may be visible to other users depending on the feature. For example, your username, profile picture, group membership, leaderboard position, milestones, rankings, achievements, or selected showcase items may be visible to friends, group members, or other users where relevant.
You agree to use social features respectfully and lawfully. You may not harass, threaten, abuse, impersonate, spam, exploit, or harm other users.
We may remove content, restrict visibility, suspend accounts, remove users from groups, or take other action if we believe social features are being misused or if content violates these Terms.
If LiftAtlas provides reporting or blocking tools, you agree not to misuse those tools. You can also contact us at support@liftatlas.app to report abuse, offensive content, or safety concerns.
